To clarify the characteristics of what nursing students learn during their practical training and examine effective methods of practical training, we analyzed reports describing what students learned after the completion of their pediatric nursing training through content analysis and text mining. The following eight categories were obtained through content analysis:“Importance of family support,”“Understanding of pediatric nursing according to developmental stages,”“Understanding of interprofessional team collaboration,”“Understanding of communication,”“Importance of observation,” “Understanding of children with severe mental and physical disabilities,”“Role of pediatric nurses,”and “Protecting children’s rights.”In addition, text mining showed that there were differences in learning depending on the practice ward, but there was less variation in learning in facility practice outside of wards.
