Tokyo University of Information Sciences offers career education courses for international students to encourage broad job search activities, rather than encour-agement to gain employment with a Japanese company. The reasons for this approach are explained in this paper. Next, the study considers the status of international students who take the“Recruitment Communi-cation”course in their third year of university. This includes a general description of the class content, including weekly assignments and keywords to learn about Japanese society. This is followed by an examination of the beliefs of international students toward their job search activities. The approach to these characteristics of individual students is a major feature of the course. Career education provided to international students can have a significant impact on their beliefs with regard to job search activities.
