The participants were 19 outpatient epilepsy patients with an average age of 22.7±4.7 years. The average age at onset was 12.1±4.1 years, and the average disease duration was 10.6±7.1 years. The survey was a semi-structured interview using the SEIQoL-DW. The average SEIQoL index was 69.2±15.8, and the SEIQoL degree of satisfaction in the“health”domain was 72.1 for young adults whose age of onset was ≥12 years old; as such, it was significantly higher than 56.7 for young adults whose age of onset was 11 years old or younger（p<.05）. In young adults with epilepsy, the important domains of life were“trustworthy people,” “social connections,”“health during illness,”“mental state,”and“self-identity.”Furthermore, the quality of life values showed that young adults whose epilepsy occurred after puberty valued their current health and had a high level of satisfaction.
