| 内容記述 | 本稿では，制限的関係節の関係節付加について新たな提案を提示している。従来，当該現象はペア併合を用いて説明されることが多かったが，近年の単純併合の指針を考慮するとそれは望ましくない。そこで，Omune（2019）で提案された局所的併合の帰結としての付加部性の説明を採用し，関係節内部からの先行詞DPの摘出が作業空間内に二つのDP生起（occurrence）を生むことにより，関係節CPが下部のDP生起に併合するという配列から制限的関係節の付加部性を説明する。その過程で，最小産出の制約に沿った形で先行詞摘出が可能となる点やA/A′位置の区別は派生的に決定されるという見解が本提案からも支持される点など様々な理論的な示唆についても言及している。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper proposes a new approach to relative clause adjunction in restrictive relative clauses （RRCs）. RRCs have quite commonly been analyzed as created via Pair-MERGE. However, now that Pair-MERGE is no longer available because it runs afoul of the tenet of Simplest MERGE, I instead adopt Immediate-Local MERGE, advanced by Omune（2019）, to extract the antecedent DP of RRCs, generating two occurrences of the DP in Workspace. As a result, relative clause adjunction can be explained in terms of a configuration where the relative CP merges with the lower occurrence of the DP. In so doing, I also adduce certain theoretical implications:（i）This approach enables antecedent extraction to take place following Minimal Yield; and（ii）it supports a view that the A/A′distinction is contextually determined. |
